[There is a rectangular box left outside White Chain's door. It's wrapped in a dark red. The card on top simply has her name on it in block letters; no indication who it's from. Inside, she will find a cape made of flame resistant material. It's slightly shiny, dark blue on one side and light blue on the other. There is a circular clasp with a medallion-like center in the muted brown and gold of a tiger's eye stone.]

[What in the Gods is this? White Chain took the package into her office.

She opened the package curiously, observed the cape carefully, then put it aside for the moment so she could search the package for any kind of note suggesting where it came from.

When she couldn't find any, she examined the cape closer. Someone had gone out of there way to get her a gift, and had no idea who.

[Avery has the grace to wait until around 2PM before he knocks on White Chain's door. He's never been a morning person, isn't one-hundred percent certain whether or not the angel sleeps, and frankly doesn't even want to be doing this to begin with.]

[There's a part of him that can't help but feel like this is playing into whatever odd delusions Toki has of him and White Chain being an item, but the rest of him has successfully argued in favor of letting her know what's going on. Maybe she can knock some sense into the kid.]

[He holds the letter he's sure is from Toki between his index and middle fingers as he waits, letting it slide back and forth (and nearly dropping it a few times)]

[White Chain never slept. She was grading papers when Avery arrived.

She had read the letter, then decided that she would just never mention it and hope no one else did either, so when she opened the door and saw Avery holding a similar letter, she paused for several seconds.]
